Job Description

As a Reader in the Department of Biochemistry, you will be responsible for teaching and conducting research in the field of biochemistry. You will be expected to design and deliver high-quality lectures and laboratory sessions to undergraduate and graduate students in the biochemistry program. You will also be responsible for supervising research projects and dissertations at the postgraduate level.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality teaching in biochemistry to undergraduate and graduate students. Design and develop course material in biochemistry that aligns with the objectives of the program. Contribute to the research output of the department through the conduct of independent research and the supervision of postgraduate research projects. Provide mentorship to students and junior faculty members. Engage in collaborative research and interdisciplinary activities with other departments within the College. Contribute to the development of the Department of Biochemistry through the provision of academic leadership, service and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Post graduate degree (M.D.S)in Biochemistry or equivalent qualification A minimum of 4 years of teaching experience in biochemistry or a related field at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A proven track record of conducting independent research in biochemistry or a related field, with publications in reputable journals. Demonstrated ability to secure research funding and collaborate with other researchers and faculty members. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Eligible Fields: Biochemistry Molecular Biology Genetics Cell Biology Biotechnology Pharmacology
