Job Description
We are seeking a Lab Assistant for the Department of Information Technology to assist faculty members in laboratory operations, prepare materials for experiments, and maintain laboratory equipment. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background and knowledge of the latest technology trends.
Responsibilities
Assist faculty members in laboratory operations Prepare materials for experiments and demonstrations Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory Ensure laboratory equipment is functioning properly and calibrated accurately Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary materials and supplies Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols and procedures Document lab experiments and maintain accurate records Assist in the setup and maintenance of IT infrastructure, software, and hardware Provide technical support to faculty members and students Assist with software and hardware installations, configurations, and troubleshooting Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and tools
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Prior experience in a laboratory setting is preferred Strong technical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ Familiarity with database management systems such as MySQL or Oracle Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or VirtualBox Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and practices
