The value engineering process involves six basic steps:

Creative idea generation: Generating ideas for improving the product or service by brainstorming and using various creativity techniques.
Evaluation and selection: Evaluating the generated ideas and selecting the most promising ones based on their feasibility, effectiveness, and potential for cost savings.
Development and implementation: Developing the selected ideas into viable solutions and implementing them.
Follow-up and evaluation: Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the implemented solutions and making adjustments as necessary.
